In Salt Lake City, Utah, you’ll find the Salt Lake County Jail. The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office operates this correctional facility. The facility will take in anyone who commits a crime within the county limits, but also on occasion take in those from surrounding cities and counties. 

When an inmate is sentenced and is kept here, they will carry less than a 24-month sentence. But, please know that not all inmates have already been sentenced when they are brought here.

Sending Money

All offenders that are held in the Salt Lake County Jail will need money. They will need money to use at the commissary. The commissary is like the prison store. This is where they can purchase items they need, and they will be passed out to them once a week. 

Offenders will also need money so they can use the telephone too. The best way to give inmates money is by dropping off a money order before 11 pm nightly.

Phone calls

All outgoing calls from the facility are monitored and recorded for safety purposes. Inmates will need to have funds in their commissary account to use the telephone. Inmates are allowed to make up to 15-minute phone calls home. They are allowed to use the telephone between 7 am to 7 pm daily.
