We made sure to put all of the information that you might need into this article. If you need to find an inmate or want to send them money, we have got you covered. Be sure to keep reading.
Their Inmate Search
At the moment, your best option would be to contact the center directly over the phone. They do not have their booking list available online.
When you call, you will want to find out as much information as possible. We recommend that you ask the staff member about setting up the accounts you will need to contact the inmate in the future.
When you write mail to an inmate, be sure that you include your mailing address. For safety reasons, your letter will be discarded if this information is not on the envelope. You will also want to have the inmate’s name you wish to receive the note on the front.
Be sure that you also have the inmate’s booking number on the envelope, preferably nearby their name. That way, staff can ensure that the correct person receives your message.
Please keep in mind that staff members will read letters to ensure that they do not break the rules. If your letter is determined to do so, it will be destroyed by the staff.
Books, magazines, and newspapers can be sent from the publisher. However, please keep in mind that you can not bring them any items except for a prescribed medicine.
How to Send Money
There are a few ways you can send money to an inmate. First, you can visit the lobby of the detention center. From there, you will be able to use a kiosk that accepts cash or cards. You will need to know the inmate’s booking number in order to complete the process this way.
You can also send a postal money order. It is important to note that the center will only accept money orders from the post office with the inmate’s full name on it.
And finally, you can visit GOVPAYNOW and follow the instructions on the screen. It might ask you for a code, which is 5500 for the Pickens County Detention Center.
Phone Call Policies
Phones are given to inmates to use through Securus Tech. Inmates can purchase phone cards through the commissary program to pay for their call.
Inmates can place a call, but you can not call them directly. Be sure to schedule a call and find out what times work best for the inmate. That way, you can be confident that you do not miss out on any phone time.
Before you answer the call, you will hear a prompt asking you if you want to accept and talk with the inmate. It is up to you whether you want to or not.
You can schedule an online video visit with Securus Tech on their website. First, you will need to create an account and get approved. Once you have completed that step, you talk with the inmate.
Always know what days the inmate can visit. This process would be best done by contacting the jail ahead of time and figuring out the inmate’s schedule for the day.
When you call, you can also schedule an in-person visit. Be aware that you might be subject to a pat-down search when you enter the building. No personal belongings are allowed in the building, so be sure that you leave them in the car during your visit.
Guidelines are made easily available, and you will be escorted from the premises if you do not follow them. Make sure that visiting children are supervised at all times when you come in.
