Visiting the Facility

Visitation to Oconee County Jail has to be arranged before hand. You need to get authorization from the authorities before hand to ensure that your name appears on the visitors’ list. Visits to the facility are mostly non-contact since the Coronavirus pandemic.

Most of the visitation takes place via video call. Entry into the facility will not be allowed unless you have a valid ID, Passport, Military ID, or Drivers License. The visiting hours are as follows:

Scarfs, hats, and caps are prohibited unless they are medical or religious. All shorts and skirts should be several inches below the knee.

There are several ways for you to send money to an inmate in the facility. You can bring cash money to a detainee in Oconee county jail by yourself. The prisoner will use the money to purchase necessities at the self-serve kiosk. You may also deposit money to your loved one over the internet.

There are several companies that will charge you a small amount as facilitation fee to get money to your loved one. The cost is not high and it is cheaper than going to the county jail to drop the money. Moreover, you could send the money via money order through the US postal mail services. However, you should know that this process takes more time than any other method of money transfer.

Sending money via money order you should have an inmate name and DOC number. The facility will not be held liable if you get the inmates name wrong, as the money will be lost. The facility has a monthly limit of $400 in a month for every inmate.
