A vital resource inside of the Rhode Island government is known as the Rhode Island Department of Corrections. Many people don’t think about this Department until they know someone that entered this realm.
This Department works day and night. They never stop running. It does not matter if it’s a holiday or not; the Department is always busy assigning facilities for inmates, transferring inmates from facility to facility, and releasing inmates when their time is up.
You can locate the headquarters for the Department of Corrections in the town of Cranston. This office in Cranston is the largest in Rhode Island. But you should be aware this is not the only office held in this state either.
As of 2021, the Rhode Island Department of Corrections has two women’s facilities and five men’s facilities. On any given year, the Rhode Island Department of Corrections plans to see around 4,000 offenders.
