About North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation

North Dakota Department of Corrections is just like any other department. They are eating, breathe, sleep; corrections. All inmates that come into the North Dakota Department of Corrections has to go through an intake exam. This exam is comprehensive. The Department of Corrections wants to ensure that they place them in a facility that will help them with their needs. These needs can be anything from getting therapy, gaining a GED, and life-skills classes.

The Department of Corrections in North Dakota prides itself on helping all offenders that need help. Their purpose is to make the offenders ready for release. They do this by offering them rewards, lowering their security level, and these programs that were mentioned above.

Everything that the correctional officers do is help shape these men and women for life on the outside. The North Dakota re-offender rate decreases due to this. This is precisely what the Department of North Dakota wants to see. They want to see the re-offender rate always decrease instead of increase because this is a clear indicator that the things they are doing are helping these individuals.

The Department of Corrections in North Dakota also deals with the parolees and those on probation and house arrest.
