Do you need to conduct an inmate search, or are you trying to send mail to someone at this location? We have the answers to everything you need to know about the Harrison County Detention Center in this article.

How to Conduct an Inmate Search

If you need to figure out if an inmate is housed at the Harrison County Detention Center, you have a few different options.

First, you can conduct a Mississippi inmate search through the jail tracker. All you need to search for is the name of the person. From there, you can view their address, arrest date, charge information, bond amount, and even their mugshot. If you can not find the person in the database, you should call the Harrison County Detention Center.

The staff there can give you all of the information you need and have the data before adding it to the website.

How to Send Mail to an Inmate

If you want to write a mail to an inmate, there are a few things that you will need to have first. You will want to call the Harrison County Detention Center and get the inmate’s booking number. In most cases, the staff needs this number to give inmates their mail.

After you write the letter, there is some extra information you will want to add to the envelope. At the top, write the name and booking number of the inmate, along with the Harrison County Detention Center. You will also want to make sure you have your name and mailing address present on the envelope.

Without all of that information on the envelope, it is unlikely that the inmate will receive your mail. You will also want to keep in mind that a staff member will check the mail- so do not include anything that breaks the detention center’s rules. If you do, you will not be allowed to send mail and might find yourself in legal trouble.

Visitation Guidelines

You can visit the Harrison County Detention Center through Securus Tech virtually. They have an app that you can use, or the website is another way to reach the inmate. You will need to set up your account beforehand and have your photo ID ready.

If you want to come to the detention center, the inmate is allowed one free visit every week using the facility’s lobby kiosks. Once you have made your account, you can use it to schedule your visits- online and at the booth.

Keep in mind that visits should be scheduled 24 hours in advance by you. You will need to be at least 18 years old and have no more than three people with you for a visit. All visitations are limited to 20 minutes.

How to Call an Inmate

Inmates can call out of jail, but you will not be able to call them. In most cases, they will need to have funds on an account to make the calls. All calls are monitored and recorded by the detention center staff.

If you need help scheduling a phone call with an inmate, be sure to call the Harrison County Detention Center directly. The staff can help you get set up.

Adding Commissary Money

And finally, inmates will need to have commissary money if they want to purchase goods. Inmates can also use these funds to buy phone cards.

If you want to send an inmate money, be sure that you have the inmate’s booking number or ID. Once you do, you will be able to send them a money order through the mail.
