Massachusetts Correctional Institution (MCI) Cedar Junction is a level 6 prison located between Walpole and Norfolk in Massachusetts, but with a South Walpole address. This maximum security facility detains an average of 800 male adult offenders. These are inmates serving their sentences under the jurisdiction of the Massachusetts Department of Corrections (MADOC). Also, it houses the Departmental Disciplinary Unit (DDU), the prison’s segregation unit for violent offenders undergoing a disciplinary measure. Further, the Cedar Junction serves as a reception and diagnostic center receiving new inmates into the MADOC. These new inmates shall remain at the Cedar Junction until they get a permanent assignment to any of the 16 correctional institutions under MADOC.

Inmate Search

MDOC takes part in the Massachusetts VINE program. Here, the Department maintains an online inmate database for the MCI Cedar Junction at the VINELink website. Then, if you suspect that your friend or loved one is at the MCI Cedar Junction, you should call the VINELink support desk at (866) 277-7477 to confirm. Likewise, you may conduct an online inmate search at the VINELink website.

To search for an inmate via the VINELink website, log in to your VINELink account. Select the state of Massachusetts and then go to “Search for Someone”. Enter the offender’s full first and last names or commitment number. But, if you are not sure about the inmate’s names, you can search using a partial name. That is, you can enter at least two characters of the last name. Also, you can provide a verified photo of the offender to narrow the search.  VINELink provides inmate search results that include the offender’s:

  • Full names and aliases

  • Gender
  • Race
  • Case Number
  • Case Status
  • Record Details

The record details are the inmate’s custody information that includes:

  • ID Number
  • Custody Status and Details
  • Book Date
  • Current Location
