How to Conduct an Inmate Lookup

If you are trying to locate an inmate, you have a few options available to you. The first is to call the Madison County Jail and ask one of their staff members to guide you through the process.

Or, you can look them up online here. If you decide to search for the inmate online, you will need a few pieces of information to complete the inquiry.

First, you will need their name. You will also want to have their Subject Number, Booking number, and possibly more. The additional information helps to narrow down your search results.

The website we mentioned above also has images of the individuals housed at the Madison County Jail to recognize the person you are searching for easier.

How to Send an Inmate Mail

The Madison County Jail now digitizes all of the mail that is sent to inmates. That means that any letters, postcards, and pictures you send here are scanned by staff and shown to the inmate through a kiosk. The facility keeps all mail for a week after it is received.

If the inmate wants to designate someone to come pick up their physical mail after the staff scans it, this is possible. Any mail not retrieved will be discarded after the week’s time limit passes. The change to this mail system is due to COVID-19, but you can expect it to be enforced by Madison County Jail for the foreseeable future.

How to Send an Inmate Money

If you want to send an inmate money for the commissary, you can contact the jail through the phone. You will need to get the inmate’s disciplinary ID number before you can deposit funds in the inmate’s account.

You can contact a MoneyGram center and give them your name, the inmate’s name, and their correctional ID. Plus, they will need the Madison County Jail’s search code.

Inmates are allowed to have up to $300 in their accounts. Funds can also be deposited by visiting the lobby of the facility. There are kiosks placed inside that accept cash, debit, and credit cards. The kiosks do not accept money orders.

Commissary orders are taken by staff on Tuesdays at 5 am. The orders are delivered on Wednesdays, while Snack Pack orders on Monday and Friday mornings and are delivered the same day. So, if you want the inmate to get their order, you will need to make sure that they have funds in their account by 5 pm on Monday.

How to Call an Inmate

If you want to contact an inmate over the phone, there is a setup available in the booking area every day. They are accessible 24 hours daily for your convenience.

You will need to set up an account with ICsolutions before you can make phone calls. However, if you are receiving calls from the Madison County Jail that you do not want, you can contact the facility and have the number blocked.
