Include your name and mailing address at the top left corner of the envelope.

All incoming mail is opened and inspected for contraband upon arrival. Hence, avoid using padded or multi-layered envelopes, boxes, bubble wraps, or any packaging with metal parts. Use English or Spanish in all the letters.

FDC contracts JPay Inc. to provide inmate e-messaging services.  Here, the inmates send a secure email on secure tablets available at the prison’s interactive kiosk. Each correspondence is at $0.39, payable via the use of stamps. These charges cater to the infrastructure needed to guarantee the safety and securing of the e-messages.

Sending Money

Friends and family may fund an inmate by deposit cash or checks to their trust fund account.  Make the deposits at the Kiosk in the Visitation Lobby or online via www.gettingout.com. Second, you may sign up and create an account with JPay. Then, deposit at any JPay Kiosk available at the visitation lobby or online via the service provider’s secure funds transfer platform.

Commissary Items

Commissary items are select products that an inmate may purchase from the prison’s kiosk. They include toiletries, food, snacks, approved electronics, over-the-counter medicines, books, and stamps. The inmate uses funds in their accounts to pay for these items.  A family member or friend may order a list of commissary items and have them shipped directly to the inmate.

Phone Calls

Every inmate at the Polk Correctional Institution has access to an inmate telephone account. Here, the inmates make collect calls to up to 10 persons on their approved members’ list. These are scheduled calls to verified personal landline numbers or personal mobile phone numbers. Hence, if you wish to talk to an inmate via phone, ensure your name appears on the approved member’s list. This list is revised after every six months. In case of difficulties receiving the inmate calls, contact your local telephone service provider, or call Securus at 800-844-6591 for assistance.
