In the late 2000s, the Arizona Department of Corrections was housing inmates coming in from Alaska. At the time, Alaska couldn’t house all of their inmates and sent them out to a facility out here while they built more facilities for their ever-growing inmate population.
But, in late 2015, a report came out stating that the Department of Corrections had over 40,000 inmates in their custody. This report also read that they were able to release over 5,000 inmates who were paroled, put on probation, or finished their sentence.
When it comes to software, the Arizona Department of Corrections faithfully uses the COTA software. The COTA software is commonly used within the Department of Corrections because it helps the agents place an inmate in the right facility to get the help they need. This software is widely used in its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
